|09/28/07 : Thanks to all the participants that attended the U16 Girls National Team Tryouts. There were approximately 40+ girls that attended over the four days of tryout.|
With all that said, each player displayed their talents that clearly showed that there is a bright future for them in the womens football program.
The preliminary roster is set at 31 to give these players the opportunity to learn and hopefully show the coaches that they have what it takes to make the final roster. Be advised that there will be another cut (date to be announced at a later time).
Below is the list of players that have been selected for the U16 National Team.
Shimizu, Demi Rae
Congratulation ladies on making the first cut of the U16 National team. Parents and players will need to attend a meeting at GFA to discuss the training schedule and basic policy. The meeting will be held this Saturday at 2:15pm in the conference room (a sign will be posted on its exact location). The meeting should take about 30-45 minutes depending on level of questions.
For those that did not make the selection, please keep playing. Remember what Coach Cheri said at the training site, "You've done a great job showing your talents. If you don't get selected, it was not your time. Keep trying and we will see you again soon." You will also be on the list for future friendly competition so don't be a stranger!

Any interested female players born the year of 1992 thru 1996 is strongly encouraged to try out. The tryout will be held at GFA Harmon Field.
Friday/Saturday: Sept 21/22 at 8PM
Sunday/Monday: Sept 23/24 at 7PM
Session is 1 1/2 hour long
It is to the player's benefit to attend all 4 days if possible.
Players must have player registration on file with GFA or bring signed registration to try-out session. Form is available on-line (home page).
This team will be participating in the upcoming AFC U16 Championship Qualifier Tournament tentatively scheduled for April 2008 (location TBD)

|07/04/07 : Come and watch the last game of the 2007 EAFF Women's Tournament at Leo Palace. Despite losing against Hong Kong (2-1) and Chinese Taipei (5-0), this event has clearly demonstrated that it is not about the score anymore. Its the impressive display of strong perseverence performance that these players have demonstrated to represent GUAM. They have put in their hardest effort to win but even if they are down in goals, they never gave up their heart and spirit to keep playing hard. This tournament has given many soccer fans, parents, opposing teams, coaches and VIPS a reason to be impress with the GUAM Women's National team.|

|04/30/07 : WOMEN'S ORANGE CRUSHERS WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! |
The two top teams, Orange Crushers and Guam Shipyard, battled out the final game at GFA Harmon Field Sunday. Crushers win with 1-0 score. Midfielder, Alexandra Ulrich scored the winning goal during the 57th minute of the game.
During the consolation game, Hyundai striker, Amber Rabena, netted two goals, one in each half, to secure the 3rd place against Paintco Strykers.
Other recognitions for the season:

Player of the Match for each game were announced for recognition along with certificates and small gift.

If you are committed to make the team, please take the time to be physically, mentally and emotionally ready for the tryouts. It is strongly encouraged that interested players attend to all four sessions. Upon completion of this tryout, twenty-five players will be selected to train.
Selected 25 players will begin their training on Tuesday & Wednesday at (location TBA) (6:30 8:30pm), starting January 16th.
Please Note: Interested off-island players will be given an opportunity to demonstrate their ability. They will need to contact Coach Cheri (email@example.com) for further coordination.
